ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Congresswoman Cheri Bustos sits down with Rockford leaders to discuss the costs and accessibility of healthcare.

As open enrollment for health insurance plans under the Affordable Care Act begins, Bustos led a roundtable discussion with community leaders. She stresses the importance of lowering the price of healthcare.

She suggests allowing Medicare to negotiate the price of prescription drugs with pharmaceutical companies and says the cost of the top 35 prescriptions on the market could go down.

Bustos adds that drug prices are the number one issue she hears about from constituents. Enrollment closes on Dec. 15.
