Bullet stuck in car charger port injures Rockton toddler

ROCKTON, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Rockton toddler is injured after she's struck by a bullet lodged in a car charger port.

The incident happened just before 8:00 p.m. Thursday at a home in the 16000 block of Cannell Road.

According to the Winnebago County Sheriff's Office, the two-year-old daughter of Jimmy Hurn was playing in her dad's car. She found a bullet and put it in a car charger port. The bullet discharged and hit her in the eye.

The girl was taken to Rockford Memorial Hospital first before being sent to UW-Madison Hospital.

Her condition is not known at this time.

The Sheriff's Office is still investigating the incident.
