ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Boylan Catholic High School plans to increase security while the school and police work to resolve a potential threat made by a student.

School president Amy Ott says a student turned to social media for a potential threat to the campus. The student was not in school Friday, and classes took place as scheduled.

In a statement, the school reminds parents "our first and highest priority is the safety and well-being of your children, our students, faculty, staff and volunteers at Boylan Catholic High School."
