Boone County Democratic Party hosts IL-16 Congressional Democratic candidate forum
BELVIDERE, Ill. (WIFR) -- The Boone County Democratic Party sponsored a candidate forum of the Illinois 16th Congressional Democratic candidates in Belvidere Saturday night to discuss issues important to area voters.
The candidates discussed issues like jobs, tax reform, healthcare, education, and immigration. The candidates say they are doing this because, in 2016, our current representative Adam Kinzinger ran unopposed. Candidates say Congressman Kinzinger distanced himself by not holding town hall meetings and preferring to go on cable TV outlets and only show up at his fundraisers. This form was moderated by our anchor, Mike Garrigan.
