BELVIDERE, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Belvidere man was sentenced to 12 years in prison for an armed robbery at a Murphy USA gas station in 2017.

Tayvionne Fleming, 26, was convicted for the robbery in July.

Authorities say Fleming was one of two people who robbed the gas station, located at 2005 Gateway Center Drive, at gunpoint on August 11, 2017.

Fleming and the other suspect reportedly took off with cash and cigarettes while wearing masks and gloves.

A few weeks later, a witness came forward with information leading to the arrest of Fleming and his partner Daniel Malinowski, a 24-year-old Belvidere man. Malinowski’s case remains pending at this time.
