BOONE COUNTY, Ill. (WIFR) -- A Belvidere man was found guilty of 12 counts of dissemination of child pornography by a Boone County jury.

Joseph Thompson, 55, was convicted Wednesday.

In April 2017, Belvidere Police received information from the Internet Crimes against Children Task Force that a person was using an AOL email account to disseminate child pornography.

A search was obtained for the AOL records, which showed the email was registered to Joseph Thompson. The records contained emails that were including attachments which contained child pornographic photos.

Thompson admitted to sending the photos to others using the AOL account. He is expected to be sentenced on October 30, 2019.
