FREEPORT, Ill. (WIFR) -- Hitting the hardwood for a good cause as the Freeport police and fire departments make buckets raising money for a local children's museum.
Players stormed the Aquin high school court for the fourth annual battle of the badges on Saturday. Along with the exhibition game, a slam dunk contest gave kids a chance to show off their skills at half-time.
All proceeds from the day's fun went to support the Children's Hands-On Museum of Northern Illinois.
"This is a Children's hands-on museum and our focus is to give kids a hands-on experience. It's a play to learn environment, so kids are coming in and their imagination is being sparked by all the different exhibits that they can play with," Sarah Flashing with Children’s Hands-On Museum said.
