ROSCOE, Ill. (WIFR) -- Westbound I-90 is back up and running with all lanes Monday night; about four hours after a serious accident shortly after five in between the Illinois 173 and Rockton Road exits.
It was actually two separate accidents involving three cars. Investigators say a semi-trailer came to a stop to avoid a previous crash, blocking the lane in front of it. A Chevy Equinox behind the truck did not stop striking the back of the semi..The driver of the Chevrolet was taken to the hospital with what investigators say are life threatening injuries.
Authorities at the scene requested a helicopter but that request was denied due to weather.
