In a news release, the restaurant says the Roscoe restaurant, located at 5390 Elevator Rd, will be closing at the end of the month.
"Opening the Roscoe restaurant was a great accomplishment, and we are proud to have served the community for so many years," says company owner Richard Schmidt.
Backyard Grill and Bar first opened doors in Loves Park in 1996. The American-style eatery then expanded to Roscoe in 1999.
A restaurant spokesperson says the closure comes as a business decision. With the Roscoe community seeing significant growth recently, the owners hope to focus on operations at one location.
"For the past 20 years we have seen the community grow in many areas and as we close our Roscoe location," Schmidt says. "We are happy to see that the community will continue to grow without our participation.
As the Stateline staple closes in Roscoe, it will honor all coupons, gift certificates and other promotions from the Roscoe location at the Loves Park restaurant.
"As we make this transition, we understand that some in the community will be upset to see us go," Schmidt says. "But don't worry, our Loves Park location is going strong and will continue to serve customers,"
Backyard Grill and Bar says its looking into transferring some employees from Roscoe to Loves Park.
