The Green Bay Packers have fired Head Coach Mike McCarthy following the team's 20-17 home loss to the Arizona Cardinals.

Offensive Coordinator Joe Philbin will take over as Head Coach on an interim basis for the remainder of the season.

The Packers dropped to 4-7-1 following the home loss to the Cardinals (3-9), a team they were favored to beat by 14.5 points.

McCarthy led the Packers to 6 NFC North Division crowns in his 13 seasons as Packers Head Coach. Green Bay was a wildcard team when they won Super Bowl XLV under McCarthy in the 2010 season.

His 125 coaching wins ranks second on the Packers all time list, behind only Curly Lambeau (212).
