BBB warns of holiday hiring scams

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – With the holiday hiring season in full swing, the Better Business Bureau is reminding us that scammers are looking to take advantage of those looking for holiday work.

The BBB says job seekers should be skeptical of unsolicited job offers, especially mystery shopping or work-at-home offers.

When starting our job searches, we’ll want to start early, that way we have time to research the companies in order to avoid falling victim.
The BBB also says we should never give our credit card or checking account info to a business that promises employment.

A legitimate employer never charges fees to prospective employees.
