A state title is up for grabs as the Auburn scholastic bowl team heads to Peoria.
Auburn is one of eight schools competing Friday for the IHSA Class 2A scholastic bowl title. The teams are divided into two pools.
Friday offers a rematch defending state champion Lincolnshire Stevenson, who defeated Auburn 430-390 for the state title last year. Auburn will also face off against Carbondale and Oak Park-River Forest on Friday.
The team that wins Pool 1 will advance to the title match at 2 p.m., while the team that finishes second plays in the third-place match against the Pool 2 runner-up.
Auburn has competed in the scholastic bowl state tournament for 18 straight years. The Knights have won scholastic bowl state titles in 2008 and 2015, and have finished second six times.
