ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- If you're a Stateline veteran in need of dental care, you're in luck.

Aspen Dental will offer free dental care around the country for veterans this Saturday. It comes in an effort to give back to the men and women who have served.

During its day of service on June 8, more than 450 Aspen Dental locations will open their doors to provide free dental care for thousands of veterans.

Aspen is working to close the gap for veterans who have not previously been able to access dental care through its Healthy Mouth Movement.

"Those folks would normally not come in, whether for cost, lack of insurance, fear. Hopefully we utilize things just to fill a small piece of the void that's left behind by an already extremely busy VA system," said Dr. Jerome Austriaco, Aspen Dental practice owner.

Since launching its day of service in 2014, Aspen Dental has served more than 21,000 veterans across the U.S. and covered millions of dollars in dental care.

Local Aspen locations include 7310 Walton Street in Rockford and 1564 West Lane Road in Machesney Park.
