Art museum kicks off 60th annual exhibition
BELOIT, Wis. (WIFR) -- The Wright Museum of Art at Beloit College kicked off its 60th annual Beloit and Vicinity Art Exhibition Saturday that showcased many works of art created by artists from around the region.
Twenty-eight local artists contributed to the 30 works of art that are being showcased at the Wright Museum. The selected art displays a variety of mediums such as drawings, sculptures and paintings. The Beloit and Vicinity Exhibition aims to highlight local artists from the surrounding areas and is a way for residents to visit an art museum close to home.
"This is a real community-based art show, so if you want to see Wisconsin and upper Illinois artwork, this is the place to come,” said director of the Wright Museum of Art, Joy Beckman.
The Wright Museum of Art’s exhibition will be on display through July 27th and is open daily to the public.
