ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Displays at the Rockford Art Museum come alive this week for the fourth annual Art in Bloom celebration.
The three-day event brings together local artists and florists to kick off the summer exhibition called "Chance Encounter." Twenty-three floral designers have created their own masterpieces based off their interpretations of paintings and photos displayed in the museum.
Each arrangement uses flowers and other organic materials. Organizers say this event brings a new audience to the museum and it's a great opporuntiy for local artists and businesses to collaborate.
"It's entirely different than in year's past," says Jordan Caljaro, Rockford Art Museum board member. "The designers love having a chance to see the artwork on display, interpret the artwork as they wish and use beautiful seasonal fresh flowers and natural elements to create their displays."
The museum will end the event Thursday with fashion in bloom cocktails and couture.
