MACHESNEY PARK, Ill (WIFR) -- 250 Illinois Army National Guard soldiers returned home from a 10-day stint in Poland to strengthen international ties. They Army says "Exercise ANAKONDA," a 24-nation cooperative training and detailed exercise tour, is Poland's largest. Chicagoland has the biggest Polish community in America, so it's important to keep our ties as strong as possible, according to the Army.

"Not many people get to get the experience," said Specialist Karlie Grove of NIU. "Training with the other nations, I feel that you get to learn a lot about what they do."

"We get to kind of take the good from their's and they take the good from our's; we both just benefit from it," agreed Sgt. Deep Shah from UIC.
