NORTHERN ILLINOIS (WIFR) – Several bowling centers in northern Illinois are taking part in the “Bowl for Freedom” campaign.

Over the weekend at some Stateline bowling alleys we can get a game, shoes, hot dogs, and Pepsi all for $0.99 apiece. All the money raised from the event will be donated to support local veterans.

All local bowlers and current or retired veterans are encouraged to take advantage of the deal.

"Well I just think we can't do enough for our veterans that have done so much for us, especially the hospitalized veterans. It's a wonderful charity and this is our way of saying thank you,” says John Sommer with Don Carter Lanes.

The bowling event will continue throughout the weekend of August 13 and 14.
