ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR)--- The annual Bird Fest took place at the Colored Sands forest preserve.
The all volunteer bird banding program featured presentations from organizations like Northern Illinois Raptor Rehab.
People also got the chance to witness and learn about some of the largest and spectacular raptor species.
There was also a variety of vendors, booths and a silent auction. Organizers says this is the perfect event for the entire family.
"We really do love the outreach that we get and the joy that we see in people's faces when they see all these birds," says Sand Bluff's conservatory president, Justin Keller.
