ROCKTON, Ill. (WIFR) - When it comes to aliens, usually they are the ones doing the abducting but one Rockton couple says their alien was abducted while they were out of state during this past winter.

The 2-foot, 60-plus pound statue used to sit on the front porch greeting passers-by with it's bright, green glow. Janet Herbert says she saw the unique item at a gardening store while shopping with a friend and knew she just had to have it. She says the statue was well-known in the neighborhood for its unique appearance.

"I heard from a neighbor down the street, that I haven't even met yet, that every time she went by he always made her smile. So yeah, I think he was well recognized in the neighborhood. Certainly, I'm not the only one to have one. Still, he was special here. Just bring him back, I'll overlook the rest but please bring him home," said owner Janet Herbert-Verhaar.

Herbert says the alien was wearing his winter outfit including a coat, hat, and gloves when he was taken sometime last month.

Anyone with information is asked to call the Rockton Police Department at 815-624-8881.
