ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Some dogs at Winnebago County Animal Services will be adoptable at a lower fee this week as the shelter plans to renovate its facility.

Starting Wednesday, a select number of dogs are available at $25 each. The deal lasts through Saturday, June 15.

Animal services is working to improve the larger kennel area for dogs. This includes double compartment areas and increased safety for staff and animals.

Adopters must be at least 18, possess a state-issued photo ID, have up-to-date vaccines for current pets and have no major animal complaints against them.
