Two-vehicle crash in Rockford sends two drivers to hospital

The Rockford Fire Department responded to the scene of an automobile accident involving extrication in the area of Calvin Park Boulevard and East State Street.

ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -- Two drivers were taken to the hospital just after 8 a.m. Monday after a crash near the area of East State Street and Calvin Park Boulevard.

Police and fire departments arrived on the scene and found one vehicle on its roof with a trail of debris along the road. Investigators say a brown Jeep heading east cross the center line and hit a blue SUV head on.

The driver of the Jeep, a 53-year-old man, and the SUV driver, a 54-year-old woman, went to the hospital, but both will be OK.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
