Beloit Schools employee arrested for possession of child pornography

BELOIT, Wis. (WMTV) -- An employee for the Beloit School District was arrested for suspected possession of child pornography Friday.

The Wisconsin Department of Justice Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force announced that Aaron D. Weber was arrested Friday. Weber is an employee at the Beloit School District.

Law enforcement executed a search warrant on Weber's residence and took him into custody. Weber was booked in the Rock County Jail.

This investigation is being led by the ICAC Task Force at DOJ and is assisted by the Beloit Police Department and Rock County Sheriff’s Office.

A statement from the School District of Beloit:

"On June 21, 2019, the School District of Beloit first became aware of a criminal investigation by the Wisconsin Department of Justice involving a District employee. The investigation concerns allegations of possession of child pornography by the employee on his personal computer. The District takes these allegations extremely seriously and immediately placed the employee on administrative leave and turned off his access to any District systems.

The employee was also directed to have no contact with students and is not to be on any District property. The District is undertaking an internal investigation into the employee’s alleged conduct to determine if the conduct as alleged did occur and its impact on his employment with the District. Please be assured that the safety of our students is our utmost priority. We have absolutely no information that any current or former District student was involved in the alleged conduct.

We will keep you apprised as we are able to regarding the status of this issue. The School District of Beloit is fully cooperating with law enforcement authorities."
