ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) – The Rockford Rescue Mission received more than 400 bras for women in need.

Dr. Pryor from Transformations Plastic Surgery on North Alpine donated the bras after his office collected new and gently used bras through the non-profit “Breast Oasis.” They were all dry-cleaned and packaged before being given to women in need.

Dr. Pryor says he was inspired to do this because he realized many women were often tossing away their undergarments.

“Women are throwing away their old bras after they’re getting a breast augmentation, a breast reduction, and in breast cancer reconstruction, when women were getting mastectomies, so rather than discarding used bras, we found a way to recycle them and donated them to women in need,” says Transformations Plastic Surgery.

Breast Oasis has donated more than 100,000 bras across the country since it was founded back in 2009.
