Boylan to send track & field participants to state
MUNDELEIN, Ill. (WIFR) - After a heated sectional competition in Mundelein, two from Boylan will head downstate to compete.
Megan Kalma earned the right by sprinting past the competition in the 400-meter run. Kalma set a personal record by running a 1:00.63. It was a whole second better than the second-place finisher.
After winning the NIC-10 in shotput Madelyn Bishop showed no slowing down. She hurled it 10.47 meters, nearly a meter better than second place. It lands Bishop a spot in the state competition. Bishop also placed second in discus which is good enough to qualify for state in that event as well.
The 4x800 meter relay team placed second in the sectional which also nets them a state appearance.
