LOVES PARK, Ill. (WIFR) - In their first game in the Rockford region in 2021 the Rivets couldn’t get the job done as the Kenosha Kingfish hand it to them 16-3.

The Kingfish got out to an early lead and never looked back. Rivets starter Jared Herzog (Fr, Rockford University) gave up four first-inning runs. Kenosha struck again in the fourth for four more to chase Herzog from the game.

Rockford did have a solid fifth inning where they tallied all five of their runs. Peter Fusek (Fr, Milwaukee Area Tech) and Dylan Robertson (Fr, Iowa Western Community College) hit the runners in with a single, and a double.

The Rivets head to Michigan for a two-game series with the Traverse City Pit Spitters. Rockford returns home Friday to host the Kokomo Jackrabbits at 6:05 P.M.
