ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - Ellen DeGeneres is ending her talk show, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Her daytime talk show’s upcoming 19th season will be the last. DeGeneres reportedly informed her staff on Tuesday of her decision to end the show in 2022.

“When you’re a creative person, you constantly need to be challenged – and as great as this show is, and as fun as it is, it’s just not a challenge anymore,” DeGeneres told The Hollywood Reporter.

DeGeneres faced controversy recently following allegations she helped foster a toxic workplace. An internal investigation led to the dismissal of some of the show’s executives, according to the Hollywood Reporter.

The talk show host will sit down with Oprah Winfrey to discuss the news on Ellen’s Thursday, May 13 show.
