East beats Guilford as some teams opt to play football on Thursday night
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) - With Good Friday this week, many teams decided to play football on Thursday night. Guilford looked to start the season 3-0 for the first time since 2014. However, East had other ideas. The E-Rabs ran all over the Vikings, scoring 26 points in the first half and winning 32-0 at Swanson Stadium.
East deploys a three-headed monster at running back. CJ Berry and Javius Catlin each scored two rushing touchdowns, while Shamar Lewis added another. Guilford was never able to get into a rhythm on offense in the loss.
Here are the scores from the rest of Thursday night’s games in the Rockford area:
#7 Newman 14, Morrison 7
#2 River Ridge 42, #4 Hiawatha 8
#5 West Central 42, #1 Polo 6
