Gov. J.B. Pritzker promotes vaccine equity in rural communities
ILLINOIS (WIFR) - Illinois Gov J.B. Pritzker visited Abraham Lincoln Memorial Hospital to speak about vaccine equity in rural areas of the state, saying the key to returning to normalcy is getting more people vaccinated.
The governor says although Illinois has made great progress in the fight against COVID-19, many rural communities are falling behind in the vaccine rollout. That is why Pritzker is partnering with access hospitals to expand vaccine access for areas in the state that have struggled with availability.
Pritzker says, “Earlier this month my administration launched a new program to partner with FQHC’s Federal Qualified Health Centers and safety net hospitals to provide additional vaccine to their patients immediately. Making this vaccine as accessible as possible to all of our residents”
