Makers Madness looks for the coolest thing made in Illinois
Ingersoll Tools placed top 4 last year
ROCKFORD, Ill. (WIFR) -The second annual search for the coolest items created in Illinois is underway. Manufacturers from around the state are showing off some of their homemade designs.
Sponsored by Comcast, the bracket style tournament aims to promote Illinois diverse manufacturing sector, and their positive impact on the Coronavirus pandemic. Nominations can be made at makersmadnessil.com. The nomination period is open until February 14th, and voting takes place each week after all nominations are in.
“A year ago, I don’t know if anyone would have thought an N95 mask would have been nominated for this,” said Mark Denzler, Illinois Manufacturers Association CEO. “Ventilators that were made, masks and gowns, so a lot of neat products were made with companies retooling to meet the pandemic crisis”
During last year’s competition Rockford business Ingersoll Tools entered its record-breaking 3D printer, placing 4th in the competition.
