Belvidere man wanted for predatory sexual assault of child

BELVIDERE, Ill. (WIFR) - A 38-year-old man is wanted for multiple sexual assault and sexual abuse charges by the Belvidere Police Department after a 3-month investigation on Wednesday.

Jose Luis Hernandez-Ramirez, is wanted for two counts of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child and two counts of aggravated criminal sexual abuse, according to the Belvidere Police Department.

In November of 2020, the Belvidere Police Department received a report that Hernandez-Ramirez allegedly sexually assaulted a juvenile female.

During the course of the investigation, Belvidere detectives met with the Boone County States Attorney’s Office who authorized several counts of sex offenses against Hernandez-Ramirez.

“A Boone County judge issued an arrest warrant for Jose Luis Hernandez-Ramirez and the Belvidere Police Department is asking for the public’s help to bring him to justice,” the Belvidere Police Department said.
