U.S. House member in process of drawing up Articles of Impeachment against President Trump

(WIFR) - One of the first two Muslim women to serve in Congress, a U.S. House member from Minnesota says she is drawing up Articles of Impeachment against President Donald Trump.
Rep. Ilhan Omar, who represents Minnesota’s 5th District, said on Twitter: “We can’t allow him to remain in office, it’s a matter of preserving our Republic and we need to fulfill our oath.”
The rioters breached the Capitol after a rally led by President Trump earlier in the day Wednesday, where he disputed the outcome of the election and called for his supporters to march to the Capitol to protest Congress’s certification of the Presidential election results. Later Wednesday, he called for an end to the violence while calling the rioters “special” people.
The President’s term ends in 14 days, when former Vice President and current President-Elect Joe Biden is scheduled to be inaugurated on January 20, 2021.
President Trump was impeached but not removed about one year ago.
