Unprecedented String of 70s Reaches New Heights

Despite a cloudy, cool start to our Tuesday, gusty Southerly winds allowed for our temperatures to surge to 74°! It's the 12th occurrence of a 70° or warmer temperature in March's opening 27 days! To put this into perspective, more than 44% of March's days have been 70° or warmer!

How uncommon is this? How about unprecedented!?!?!? Never before has a March seen this many 70s! The 11 70s in March of 1910 stood the test of time for 102 years before falling Tuesday!

What's even more amazing is that just 6 previous APRILS have seen more 70s than this MARCH! With 70s possible both Wednesday and Saturday, it's possible March, 2012 will surge even further into uncharted territory!

For what it's worth, April is to start with back-to-back 70s, including a possible 80° reading for April Fools' Day Sunday!
