LOUISVILLE, Miss. (AP) -- Weather experts say several tornadoes have touched down in North Carolina without causing serious damage.
But meteorologists say the storm system that generated a spate of tornadoes blamed for dozens of deaths has weakened substantially.
Some tornado watches are still in effect for isolated areas.
The violent weather is blamed for 35 deaths since the weekend.
The violent weather pulverized homes in a half-dozen states from Iowa to Tennessee.
