Temporary End of the Heat Era in Sight

Tuesday's 92° high temperature in Rockford marked the 41st time in which the mercury has reached the 90° mark so far in 2012, which is a remarkable accomplishment! Only 9 other years have produced more 90s than 2012, and there's still plenty of time to add to the tally!

That said, we'll put the 90s on hold for quite some time! In fact, we're facing arguably our longest streak of sub-90s all summer long! Since our first 90° of Meteorological Summer on June 9th, every week (Monday-Sunday) has produced multiple 90° temperatures! Unless Wednesday somehow produces a 90° high, which would be a minor miracle, this week will undoubtedly go down as the first of Meteorological Summer not to produce multiple 90s!

Furthermore, our first sub-80° temperatures since Mid-June are also in the forecast, and multiple ones at that! Thursday and Friday will have a discernible feel of Autumn in the air, especially in the evenings! Enjoy the free A/C!
