Rain falling on ground
OSHKOSH, Wis. (AP) -- Strong thunderstorms across Wisconsin have caused flooding, hail damage, power outages and road closures.
The Wisconsin Emergency Operations Center says at least a dozen homes in the Calumet County village of Hilbert have been affected by flooding. In Manitowoc County, access to the Town of Rockwood was closed because of high flood water. Flooding also closed a portion of Highway 41 in both directions in Winnebago and Fond du Lac counties Thursday morning.
In western Wisconsin, the Blair-Taylor School District canceled classes Thursday because of storm damage. Numerous power lines and trees were down. About 30 homes in the Arcadia trailer park sustained wind and hail damage.
Wisconsin Public Service says the storms interrupted power for about 3,000 customers in Rhinelander, Green Bay and Tomahawk.
