STATELINE (WIFR) -- Below is the list of snowemergencies in effect throughout the Stateline:
The City of Rockford has declared a city-wide snow emergency beginning Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 12:00 p.m. The Odd/Even parking will be in effect until the Public Works Department deems it no longer necessary. Effective as of 12:00 p.m. on December 21, 2013 cars are to be parked on the ODD # side of the street. As of 8:00 a.m. December 22, 2013, cars are are to be parked on the EVEN # side of the street.
The Village of Machesney Park has declared a snow emergency to start at 10 p.m. Saturday, December 21, 2013. During this emergency, no vehicles may park or stand on any road, highway, roadway shoulder, ditch or any other property used, or which could be used, as a roadway within the Village of Machesney Park until such road or highway has been completely cleared of snow. Further information may be obtained from the Village of Machesney Park at 877-5432, or at the Winnebago County Sheriffs Police, Machesney Park Division at 877-5519 The village would like to remind residents and businesses that it is illegal to deliberately place snow from any private property, driveway or parking lot on any public rights-of-way, street or sidewalk. Any person, persons, corporation, firm or organization or concern which shall violate any provision of the ordinance could be fined $50.00.
The Village of Cherry Valley has announced that Winter Parking Regulations are now in effect due to thewinter storm warning that has been issued by the National Weather Service.Pursuant to the ordinances; no vehicles are allowed to park on village streets for the duration of the winter storm warning, or until all streets have been cleared.
The City of Freeport had declared a snow emergency as of 7 a.m.. Effective immediately, the winter parking regulations are in effect for the next 24 hours.
The City of Belvidere Snow Ordinance is in effect. There is no parking on city streets until they are completely cleared.
The City of Beloit has declared a snow emergency, starting at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 21, 2013 and ending at 1:00 a.m. Monday, December 23, 2013. No parking is allowed on city streets during those times.
The City of Sterling has declared that a snow emergency will be in effect beginning Saturday, December 21, 2013 at 5:00 p.m. This means that there is no parking on Snow Routes until all snow has been removed from the full width of the street, there is no parking in the Central Business District and in city parking lots from 1:30 A.M. to 5:30 A.M., and that odd and even parking restrictions will be in effect on all other City Streets.
On the odd days of the month, you park on the odd-numbered side of the street; and on even days of the month, you park on the even-numbered side of the street. Odd and even days will be considered as beginning between 6:00A.M. and 8:00 A.M. You will not be ticketed between 6:00A.M. and 8:00 A.M. Odd and even numbered sides of the street refer to the usual residence and building address numbers.
These parking restrictions will terminate block by block after the snowfall stops and when all accumulated snow has been removed from the full width of the street or when the snow emergency is cancelled by the City. All other parking restrictions remain in effect. No parking will be permitted on streets where parking is restricted or prohibited. Cars parked in violation of the above restrictions will be ticketed and may be towed, at the owner’s expense.
