STATELINE (WIFR) -- Below is a list of sand and sandbag locations for residents across the Stateline.
Sand and sandbags are being made available at:
Residents who live within the City of Freeport will find sand and sandbags located in the Tutty’s Crossing Parking Lot at Stephenson and Liberty Streets and the Freeport Park District maintenance building located in Krape Park to the north of the band shell.
Residents who live in Stephenson County can call 815-599-0344 for sandbags. Be prepared to advise how many bags will be needed. At this time sand is available at the County’s old salt shed located on Lamm road between Malcomb Eaton and the Historical Museum.
The City of Byron has sandbags and sand available at the Byron Public Works facility at 504 E. Blackhawk. There are also sandbags available at the Byron Fire Department located at 123 N. Franklin.
Due to the severe storms expected to continue and possible flooding that could occur in the Stateline area, the City of South Beloit will be providing sand, sandbags, and shovels for anyone in need of sandbags at:

Public Works Director Jeff Reininger would like to remind residents to not go by any downed wires as they may be live, but rather notify the proper authorities.
A supply of SAND will be available for the sandbags at the following locations (Citizens should bring their own shovels):
• The Rock Town Hall - Afton
• Parking lot near the entrance to Culvers on Highway 59 – Newville
• The Rock County Highway Department sheds located at Highway 59 and North Sherman Rd. - Edgerton
• Boat landing on North River Rd., just off Highway 14 near the Four-Mile Bridge – Janesville
• Beloit Township Fire Department – Beloit
Rock County Sheriff’s Office RECAP inmates and WORKENDER crews are assisting in the filling of sand bags at several of the sand bag locations throughout the County.
Citizens, who may be placing sand bags around their property, are reminded that exposure to flood waters can create health concerns and they should make sure to be current on the tetanus vaccine if they are in contact with flood waters.
The City of Beloit Department of Public works has available for city residents sand and sandbags. The sand and bags will be accessible outside the Department of Public Works. Residents should bring shovels to fill the bags.
