ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The Rockford Park District has implemented the following changes due to the anticipated heat.

Changes for Thursday, July 5, 2012:

• Time 2 Play Summer Playground program
o Ridge Park, Churchill Park, Bloom School Park, Beattie Playground, Harmon Park, and Fair Grounds Park sites – Cancelled
o Keye-Mallquist Park and Wantz Park sites – Close at 1 p.m.

• Therapeutic Recreation Programs
o Teen Time Day Camp at Indoor Sports Center – Cancelled
o Teen Links Day Camp at Indoor Sports Center – Cancelled
o Paralympic Boccia – Practice Cancelled

• Trolley Car 36
o Public Rides – Cancelled

• Youth Sports
o NFL Flag Football – Practices cancelled
o NFL Cheer – Practices cancelled
Changes for Friday, July 6, 2012:

• Time 2 Play Summer Playground program
o Ridge Park, Churchill Park, Bloom School Park, Beattie Playground, Harmon Park, and Fair Grounds Park sites – Cancelled
o Keye-Mallquist Park and Wantz Park sites – Close at 1 p.m.

Changes for Saturday, July 7, 2012:

• Lockwood Park Trailside Equestrian Centre & Children’s Farm
o Trail Rides – cancelled
o Pony Rides and Animal Barn – may close early due to extreme heat
