Rockford Red Cross Volunteer Arrives in Colorado

UNDATED (WIFR) -- Search and rescue efforts continue in Colorado, as the flood waters destroy neighborhoods and homes. A member of our local Red Cross arrived there Monday night and will now help thousands cope with disaster.

Mindy Wing , an Assessment Supervisor from the Red Cross will be helping in areas with the most need. A break in the weather allowed army helicopters to continue rescuing stranded people in flood-ravaged neighborhoods near Boulder where people have been isolated for as long as five days were told to use white sheets, mirrors, flares, and signal fires to flag down the choppers.
