OGLE COUNTY (WIFR) -- While most of us may be surviving the heat the same can't be said for local livestock. Especially for one farmer in Ogle County.
Don Rogers of Oregon has lost almost 100 cattle since Tuesday due to the heat. He says it's not a problems for the calf's, but the larger cattle that are ready to go to market have trouble getting oxygen when the heat index gets this high.
Investors stand to lose over $170,000 from the loss in cattle while the family itself is looking at a hit of about $50,000.
