Friday Marks 13th Straight Above Normal, Trend Has Staying Power

Sunshine sure hasn't been in abundant supply of late. Rather, clouds and fog have been the main storytellers here in the Stateline since Wednesday night. Despite that, we've managed high temperatures in the mid to upper 30s the past two days despite sunshine being essentially extinct! We've now seen 13 consecutive days above normal, and there is positively no sign of that streak coming to an end for several days!

Saturday will no doubt be day number 14 in a row above normal, though it won't go entirely without complication! The massive storm system that has walloped the Eastern Rockies and the Plains states with 1-3 feet of snow, and ravaged the Southern Plains and Mississippi River Valleys with severe t-storms pays a brief visit to our area early Saturday. By the time of its arrival, much of the energy will have been lost, and a dry ENE wind will eat away at the bulk of the precipitation here. That said, it's not to be ruled out that a light rain/snow mix may greet Stateliners early Saturday, with the best precip chances over our Southern Counties! Some models even hint at some mixed sunshine in the afternoon, a development that would foster potential low to mid 40s for highs!

More in the way of sunshine is due in Sunday, and even more on Monday, with temperatures Monday a good 13° above normal! A more substantial cold front passes Tuesday and Wednesday, perhaps sparking a flurry in spots, but there's no sign of any big snow nor are there any signals of a bona fide Arctic outbreak!

Our streak of consecutive days may be in jeopardy Friday. Our current forecast of 31° is a whopping one degree below normal!
