WINNEBAGO COUNTY (WIFR) -- Homes in Edgemere Terrace have been prone to frequent flooding and that's why the federal government is stepping in to help solve the problem.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency is giving a Winnebago County $1,667, 191 grant to help remove 12 homes that have been repeatedly damaged by flooding.
The grant will help fund 75% of the $2,222,921 project, which will turn the flood-way along the Rock River into an open space.
