STATELINE (WIFR) -- Spring has been kind of disappointing. But not for allergy sufferers. The cooler weather has actually delayed the worst of allergy season.

Enjoy it now. Because once warmer weather returns, allergy levels are expected to climb into the very high category. And it should happen in the next two-to-three weeks.

That's the story for the entire midwest. Allergy specialists at SwedishAmerican Hospital's Brookside Specialty Center are already seeing patients coming in requesting stronger medications.

Fatima Mohiuddin tells us, "From East Coat to West Coast we have high pollen counts of medium to high. I see patients coming in with sneezing, itchy eyes, and runny nose but the over the counter stuff is not working."

About 50-million people suffer seasonal allergies.
