Byron Students Collect Clothes For Tornado Victims

BYRON (WIFR) -- Life is getting somewhat back to normal in central Illinois, after last months deadly tornadoes. Now one Stateline school wants to make sure everyone's has the basic necessities.

Students with the Byron High School Honor Society and Activities Department started separating donations on Thursday.

They are collecting new and gently used clothing and new personal grooming items for the Red Cross.

Byron High School Honor Society President Peter Hodapp says it's the least they can do.

We know because of the tornado a lot of people lost there houses and other things. What we can do to help them is very importation for all of us," Hodapp said.

To donate there are drop off boxes at the Byron Library, County Market and High School until December 9.

There will also be a collection drive Friday, December 6 from 3:30 to 5:30p in the Byron High School Gym.
