It's official! Rockford's reached 80° once again! It's the 4th consecutive 80° day, and the 5th consecutive record high temperature achieved!

What's mind-blowing about this warmth isn't necessarily the fact that we've hit 80°, but just how remarkably early we've managed to do so, and with the regularity we've been able to maintain! In the first 106 years of weather records here in Rockford, there had NEVER been a single 80° day before March 23rd. That's 0 out of 2,332 total days over that span. This year, we're 4 for 18 so far, and likely to add to that tally in coming days!

As if this warmth wasn't remarkable enough, here's something that will really make your jaw drop! Since 6:00am, Rockford's temperature has been higher than that in Phoenix, AZ! The 3° spread at the day's onset was as close as Phoenix would get temperature-wise compared to the Forest City, which by midday was running nearly 30° ahead our friends in the Valley of the Sun! A very similar trend is expected to occur Monday!
