ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- It’s not every year you can say you went golfing in Illinois in January.

Some local golf courses are still open this week thanks to the unseasonably warm weather.

Dozens of golfers got ready to tee off this morning in Cherry Valley. Others took advantage of the still snow-free Sinnissippi bike path.

It probably doesn't come as a surprise that the Annual Snow Sculpting Contest has been pushed back a week.
