ROCKTON (WIFR) - The rain may have let up but for some Stateline communities the flooding is not over.

Rockton is situated right where two major rivers meet up and that means rising water through the night.

Heavy weekend rains up North equals rising rivers down South, or in our case, the Rock and Pecatonica rivers swelling from rain that happened days ago.

The rivers are making their presence known in Rockton where entire parks are underwater. However the worst hasn't hit yet. The Pecatonica and the Rock are still pushing flood waters through the area, forcing their way into anything at river level.

Despite the threat of further flooding many Rockton residents aren't worried, having been through an even deeper disaster two years ago.

"Right now it is probably within two and a half feet of the highest I've ever seen it... For me it's no concern because this is a flood plain down here and everything that I've got built is for the flood," said Joe Brady who's lived along the Rock River for 10 years.

The National Weather Service and the Winnebago County Emergency Center are estimating that the Rock River will crest around 1pm tomorrow at a few inches over 12 feet.

Before the river can re-open to the public it has to drop below the flood, or "action" level at 9 feet. The Rock River is expected to drop to that level early next week.
