Forecasters are calling for the Maquoketa River to crest Tuesday afternoon (7/27) at 35.2 feet.

That would be about a foot higher than the previous record, which was set in 2002.

Residents of Maquoketa helped an elderly resident whose home was surrounded by water.

Saturday night (7/24), they pulled her from her home and set her up in a
nearby hotel.

The woman returned home Sunday, thinking it was all right.

Instead, she became trapped again and had to be rescued-this time by her neighbor.
