Heavy rains across the Middle East on Monday (January 18) flooded some areas of the central Gaza Strip, forcing residents out of their homes.
Rescue services gathered at the site making their way through the flooded streets toward people stranded in the water.
Hussein Assuboh, a resident, said he saw no major injuries, but some people in the area did lose much of their livestock.
"The water came and flooded the people and it flooded the houses, (there were) only minor injuries but most the cattle is gone in the sea," Assaboh told Reuters Television.
Many Palestinians in the Gaza Strip have lost their homes which were destroyed in the Israeli offensive on the Hamas-run strip a year ago.
Gaza-based al-Mezan center for human rights says the 22 day Israeli military offensive, left about 500 families in tents as more than 10,000 houses were destroyed or damaged.
Earlier on Monday, one Israeli was reportedly killed after his car was carried away by a flash flood in southern Israel, according to Israeli emergency crews.
