ROCKLAND, N.Y. (AP) -- Emergency crews in New York's Catskill mountains are searching for up to four people missing after flash floods hit part of the area.

Last night's flooding also caused some property damage.

Heavy rains caused flooding that washed out sections of at least two roads in the town of Rockland, New York, about 75 miles southwest of Albany.

Homes and bridges were damaged after about six inches of rain fell on the region in a two-hour span.

State police say two people have been found, but it's not clear if they were among the original four reported missing.

A strong line of thunderstorms swept across upstate New York yesterday, downing trees and knocking out power in scattered areas from Buffalo to Albany.

The storm is being blamed for one death in Rochester.
